To tune this vehicle,
Flashzilla Pro (recommended)
Supports Read/Write for the ECD17CP24 ECU Via OBD2 OR the engine computer can be removed for bench-flashing. This can be done either by shipping the ECU up to us in BC, Canada, or by working through a distributor. Please contact a dealer for an appointment.
Note: The radiator fan may come on during flashing and will cause significant battery drain.
It is highly recommended that you unplug the two radiator fan control unit fuses whenever you are flashing the vehicle (fuse 1 and 2 in the below diagram).
We prefer not to tune Stage 3 (big turbo upgrade) if it involves shipping the ECU back-and-forth, for older 3.0L TDIs. Stage 3 in some cases benefits from a few tune updates & logging, and is most effective with OBD2 port tuning (2011 and newer 3.0L TDIs only).
The earlier generation Audi Q7 is known to their plenum drain clogged, which causes water to back out into the cabin and potentially entering the ECU. For that reason, Audi later added a black plastic cover to reduce water ingress: We recommend checking the ECU to see if you have that cover. As long as we have them in stock, we will install one free of charge if the ECU is sent here for work. Otherwise, you can order one from your local Audi/VW dealer: Reference part number 4L0 907 577.
