TuneZilla is a Tuning Network that was founded by Mark Malone (Malone Tuning) but encompasses more than just Mark Malone and the Malone Tuning tunes. We now have a network of Calibrators/Tuners that contribute to our tuning catalog, all specializing in their respective fields.
All tunes are specified for “off-road use only”, TuneZilla does not take responsibility for any warranty complications.
InstaTune is our online tune platform which is available to customers 24/7, even if we are not. It is always available for you to upload your stock tune, and to access, configure, and download your tune file.
As our HQ is strictly a research and development facility, we do not take in customer vehicles for custom tuning or dyno usage. We ask that you refer to our dealer listing to find a local TuneZilla dealer near you: https://tunezilla.com/dealers to help with tune installation.
You can find a list of the hardware that we offer here: https://tunezilla.com/products
We do not sell exhaust kits, they are sold separately through various online retailers.
Tools do not come pre-loaded with tunes. The process works with the tool reading off the ECU, and then use that file to generate a tune to match your exact software.
There is no time limit to downloading a tune, and tune credits do not expire.
Altering readiness monitors may be illegal in many jurisdictions and, as such, we do not force set readiness monitors in our tunes. Please consult your local regulations for inspection requirements.
Tools will be shipped out within 1-2 business days, and then usually arrive within 3-5 business days.
In the catalog, you can select the vehicle and see the expected power figures for each stage tune.

You can make tune updates by going to your tune request. Follow this menu:
Please ensure that you are using the same tune request that your original file was made from, otherwise you may be prompted to pay for a new tune file.
No need to pay full price when upgrading your tune. When you update the tune file using InstaTune, you will just pay the difference in cost between the tune you already purchased and the tune you want to upgrade to. If your tune file is custom or needs to be manually made by a tune calibrator, a $100 recalibration fee may apply.
No, if you have the DPF installed still you should not run the delete tune as this can cause the DPF to clog. The best option will be to download the base tune without the delete add-ons, and then update the file in InstaTune when the hardware has been changed.
The primary EGT sensor (in the exhaust manifold pre-turbo) and the primary O2 sensor (in the downpipe immediately post-turbo) will both need to be left plugged in and functioning correctly. All other exhaust sensors should be removed/unplugged. If your vehicle is equipped with an SCR module, please ensure this is unplugged before starting your vehicle.
DPF delete - electronically unplug the DPF pressure sensor
EGR delete - electronically unplug the EGR
Intake Flap (SWV) delete - electrically unplug the intake flap motor
DO NOT disconnect the exhaust manifold backpressure pressure sensor
Your vehicle’s ECU/TCU is not compatible with our OBD-flashing tools. In this case, you can arrange to visit one of our dealers to have the tune installed, or the ECU can be shipped in for a bench-flash at our HQ.
Please ensure that you have selected the deletes add-on selected in the options menu as per the attached photo. Even though these were selected when you purchased the tune initially, you’ll need to re-select them when in Instatune configuring your tune. (photo may not be exactly as shown in InstaTune as it varies by vehicle)
The P0544 fault code is for exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor bank 1 sensor 1. This is the primary EGT sensor located in the exhaust manifold pre-turbo. This sensor CANNOT be deleted in the tune as it's vital for engine health and thermal management.
In some cases, we may request that you send us or upload a photo of your ECU type or box code in order for us to determine exactly what tunes we have available for it. Your ECU type and code will be located on the front of your ECU. (please note photo shows a sample only and your ECU and label may look different)
All required hardware modifications for each tune stage can be found in the tune catalog, listings will note when and where specific hardware is required: https://tunezilla.com/catalog
If you are running modifications that fall outside of these required/recommended hardware, you may need a custom tune.
Yes, when you purchase a tune file, the lower stages are also included with the purchase. For example, if you purchase a Stage 2 tune, the Stage 1 tune can be downloaded as well for no additional cost.
If you're using a FlashZilla Pro, you can select 'Add A New ECU Tune' in the TuneZilla Portal application, new tune files will be saved in your tune library.
If you're using a FlashZilla V3 tool, when making the tune file in InstaTune, select the 'Add Another Tune' option to make up to 5 different tunes.
Our tunes are designed to be an ideal balance between performance and efficiency, we cannot make any guarantees or provide firm statistics on fuel mileage/economy increases. Some users have reported an approximate 10% increase in MPG, but there are too many factors that can contribute to an increase or decrease in mileage for us to accurately quantify it. Anything from driving style, vehicle condition, altitude, outside air temperature, and even tire condition/inflation can affect fuel economy. Generally, if mileage is your main concern, it's best to stay with a lower-stage tune and be sure to go easy on the throttle.
We recommend the FlashZilla Pro if it's compatible with your vehicle, this can be checked on the FlashZilla Pro page.
This tool was designed by us to be more user-friendly, is capable of tuning ECU and TCU (on compatible vehicles), and does not get VIN-locked so it can used on multiple cars. Protocols are also often being updated to expand the range of vehicles the Pro tool can be used on.
If the tune files were made using a different device, like a FlashZilla V3 or by a dealer, they won't automatically transfer over to your tune library. If this happens, please open a ticket and the support team can help transfer the tune credits to your account so you can redownload the files from InstaTune.
The price of the FlashZilla v3 is determined by an external manufacturer. We sell the FlashZilla v3 at a price close to our cost.
Make sure that you are logged into your TuneZilla account on the TuneZilla Portal application, the same account/email that the tunes were purchased under. Follow the prompts in the TuneZilla Portal app to create your ECU/TCU tune files in InstaTune.
If you do not see any tunes for your vehicle in InstaTune, you will need to request a tune - follow the prompts to open a ticket.
Yes, FlashZilla Pro (FZP) is not VIN-locked. It can be used to flash multiple vehicles under the same user account, or it can be used under a different user account.
No, while FlashZilla Pro can be used to flash multiple vehicles, the tune files are encoded to the ECU of the vehicle. You will not be able to flash multiple vehicles with the same tune.
The FlashZilla Pro is linked to your TuneZilla user account, you can store as many tune files for as many vehicles as you need via the TuneZilla Portal App. The tunes are not stored on the tool itself.
Open the TuneZilla Portal App and connect to your vehicle. When you reach the "Tuning" step and the list of available tunes appears, right-click a tune, and select "Download". Downloaded tunes are stored on the local computer, not on the tool itself.
Open the TuneZilla Portal App while offline. When you see the prompt "Unable to reach the TuneZilla servers, please check your internet connection", select "Enter offline mode", then continue to use the application as normal. You will be able to flash tunes that have been downloaded previously.
The FlashZilla V3 is VIN-locked to one vehicle at a time. If you would like to use your FZ3 on a different vehicle, please open a ticket here and the support team will provide you with the next steps.
The FZV3 can store up to 6 tunes, including your stock file.
Multiple tunes will be encoded into one file to be uploaded to your device. When making your tune in InstaTune, select the 'Add Another Tune' option to make multiple tune options.
Our TCU tunes are not compatible with the FlashZilla V3 devices. Most TCU tunes can be flashed using a FlashZilla Pro tool.
