Stage 1
The 4.0 TFSI has room for significant additional performance beyond what it comes with from the factory. Our Stage 1 tune unlocks this performance, and delivers a huge increase in power and torque across the rev range, with sharper throttle response, stronger acceleration, and a more consistent delivery of power from low RPM through the upper end of the rev range. Despite the substantial increase in output, power delivery remains smooth and progressive for a refined and usable driving experience.
The Stage 1 tune is designed to work with the factory turbochargers and supporting hardware, so no major hardware upgrades are required. 93 octane / 98 RON fuel and colder spark plugs are required to support the increased power output. The result is a substantial improvement in overall performance while retaining the smooth, consistent characteristics expected from a well-developed tune.
Given the significant increase in performance over stock, it is crucial to ensure the vehicle is mechanically healthy and properly maintained before installing the tune.

Stage 2
If Stage 1 isn't enough for you, TuneZilla's Stage 2 tune takes the 4.0 TFSI to another level. Built for vehicles equipped with a more complete set of supporting hardware, this tune delivers a huge jump in power and torque over stock, transforming the character of the engine with harder acceleration, stronger response, and a much more aggressive powerband. Power builds quickly and carries strongly through the rev range, giving the engine a level of performance that is a significant step beyond Stage 1.
Upgraded downpipes are required to support the increased airflow, along with 93 octane / 98 RON fuel and colder spark plugs. An upgraded intercooler and intake are recommended to further support the increased output.
This is a substantial increase in performance, so it is crucial that the vehicle is mechanically healthy and properly maintained before installation.

This update to the TCU catalog was an effort to reduce the amount of additional costs to customers who choose custom TCU tuning. Pulling from a variety of driving styles and customer requests, we have released an Autobahn tune, and a Nur-Spec tune.
