TuneZilla releases additional ECU support for the Simos 18.1 and 18.10 ECU.We are excited to announce that we have released an Immobilizer defeat solution for the Simos 18.1 and 18.10 ECU’s commonly used with the 1.8T and 2.0T EA888.3 motors. With our solutions, we can perform an Immobilizer delete while keeping OBD flashing compatibility. Additionally, we also have Cloning (IMMO Transfer) services available as long as the donor ECU has a matching software version. The procedures for these services are very involved and require bench flashing in house at our TuneZilla headquarters. Typical turn around for these services is 3-5 business days excluding shipping times/delays. The ECU must be shipped in to our facility. Please see notes below. Before sending ECU in please open a ticket including a photo of the ECU label and a read of the software version. For IMMO OFF CustomersWhen finalizing an engine swap, the ECU can end up being the last thing needed to get the car fired up. Our Immobilizer Defeat solution allows your ECU to function without the immobilizer in place, so you can quickly get the ECU operating and your project car running. We install our standard IMMO off file with OBD flash compatibility for use with FlashZilla Pro tooling (can also be paired with a tune file)If we are missing your existing software version, we may still be able to make a file, this can take an additional 5-10 business daysIn rare cases, OBD flashing may not be achievable. In these instances, tune updates and flashing must be done via Bench Protocols and will require mail in for updates.Any IMMO-Off file must not be flashed or updated with other software or tooling other than Tunezilla VIA ticket systems or risk permanent damage to the ECU.For ECU Cloning customersWhen dealing with ECU replacements, we can help with cloning the information from your bad ECU to a good/used ECU. This can prevent a costly visit to the dealer for a brand new ECU, plus the calibration costs that the dealer will hand down to you to get it running. In many cases, we can take a good used ECU with a matching software version to your original ECU and re-program it to work in your vehicle. This is not a full 1:1 Clone. Rather, it is an IMMO transfer from Donor ECU-New ECUCustomer must supply a matching ECU and be prepared to send in both the faulty ECU and donor ECU (Will not work if old ECU is missing or damaged beyond repair)Hardware number and ECU type might be the same but software is incompatible, please check that software numbers match. Our Immo Delete and Cloning service is $499.00 for the Simos 18.1 and 18.10
